The short version
This site sets no cookies. Not analytics cookies, not advertising cookies, not profiling cookies, and not first-party cookies of our own.
One entry is written to your browser local storage, and only after you press a button in the consent banner. It records which button you pressed, so that we stop asking on every page.
Exactly what is stored
One item, under the key bcass.consent, in the local storage of the browser you are reading this in. It contains two values: whether you accepted or rejected, and the timestamp of that choice. It contains no identifier, no session token and nothing that describes you.
We treat the record as expired after 182 days, roughly six months, which is the interval the European Data Protection Board and the Romanian authority both treat as reasonable before asking again. After that the banner asks once more.
Nothing at all is written before you choose. If you never press a button, your browser leaves this site holding nothing from us.
Why we may store it without asking
Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC, implemented in Romania by Article 4(5) of Law 506/2004, requires consent before storing information on your device, and exempts storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you explicitly requested.
A record of your own consent choice falls within that exemption. Storing it is the only way to honour the choice you just made. It would be absurd to need consent to remember a refusal.
The spam check on the contact form
The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which decides whether a submission is automated. Turnstile runs in its managed mode here and issues a short-lived token that is validated once, on our server, at the moment you submit.
This is security processing that is strictly necessary to provide the form you asked to use, and it does not follow you to other websites or build an advertising profile. If Cloudflare changes what Turnstile stores, this notice changes with it.
What we deliberately left out
There is no analytics script on this site, cookieless or otherwise. We read the server access logs instead, which tell us which pages are read without telling us who read them.
There is no embedded map on the contact page. The address is printed as text and linked, which works without handing your visit to a mapping provider. There is no embedded video, no comment system and no social media button.
That is also why the consent banner has so little to ask about. It exists because the law requires the choice to be offered, and because the moment we add anything optional, the choice you made will already be recorded.
Changing your mind
Rejecting is one click and sits next to Accept, at the same size and the same weight. Closing the banner without choosing is treated as a rejection, not as consent.
To clear the stored choice, delete the stored data for this site in your browser settings, under Privacy or Site settings depending on the browser. The banner will then ask again on your next visit.
You can also block or delete storage for all sites in your browser settings. Because this site depends on none of it, blocking it breaks nothing here.
Changes to this notice
If we ever add something that stores data on your device, this notice is updated before that thing ships, and the date at the top changes with it.
